Hi All.


Firstly, I am very disappointed to hear that there has been yet another purge on local venues who are providing live music to visitors and locals alike.


In recent weeks several venues have been stopped from putting artistes on.


It seems ludicrous for this to be happening now when the area in general is starting to see a new lease of life, with more house building, and many more expats coming to live in Spain.


Back to business!


I am delighted to feature in this month's edition, Mr Tony Capaldi. Show business seems to be very much in Tony's blood, he is 7th generation Scottish, born to an Italian couple Dominic and Velia. Velia was a well renowned Operatic singer.


Tony's son Gianni is an Actor/ Film Producer, working with Universal Studios, who now lives in Hollywood, and has completed projects with Vinnie Jones and Dolph Lundgren.


His cousin is Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, from "Local Hero" film fame, and is currently the latest Doctor Who.


Although Tony lived in Ayeshire, he spent much of his formative years living in Tuscany, a beautiful part of Italy, near to Florence.


Tony Capaldi began singing as a sixteen year old, and within a couple of years had won over 30 competitions.

Tony Capaldi, over the years, has worked with many Scottish veteran entertainers, including Jimmy Logan and Allan Stewart.


Tony is a true "International" vocalist. His repertoire covers many genres of songs, incorporating Spanish, Italian and many more world famous songs.


Since moving to Torrevieja 8 years ago, Tony has been working steadily in the local bars and restaurants, finding time to cater for private functions and villa parties.


He is a showman in the true sense of the word, having a wide experience in entertaining, being a past radio show host and also having acting credits to his name.


Tony performs all over Torrevieja and the surrounding area, so, to see his show, keep an eye on the local press for future engagements.


I had a most enjoyable evening listening to Tony Capaldi and his very varied song programme of classic hits.
