As winter approaches, there’s a chill in the air as we enter the Christmas Shopping Frenzy. If that frenzy includes a new or used car then don’t miss FirAuto at the IFA beside the Airport. It takes place from 18th to 20th November and will be the 39th edition of FirAuto, the Car Show and the 25th edition of the Motor Show Occasion, EXPOCAR. Over that weekend you can find: new and used vehicles, 0Km, products and services for the driver, financing services, insurance, etc.. The cost of admission is 8€ but only 6.00€ by presenting the discount voucher that can be downloaded from the download section of this website, or 5€ if purchasing in advance at http://tienda.feria-alicante.com. During these three days, the IFA will become the largest showcase of new and used vehicles of the Province, as visitors can see and compare a wide range of vehicles and admire the engine market developments. During the exhibition, you can also have your car checked out with a free pre-ITV check at the APPLUS ITV services truck.


Moving into the first holiday ‘bridge’ weekend in December the IFA offers EXPOCACHORRO, for all pet lovers. All lovers of pets have two days of splendour on the 3rd and 4th December in Expocachorro. The show is the most complete event in the province where you can find out more about the latest products and services for pets, along with a wide range of activities, exhibitions and championships showcase. You will find more than 30 companies exhibiting everything needed for the care of pets, such as food, clothing and accessories, toiletries and beauty, toys for animals, terrariums, veterinary clinics, plus of course pets.

In the other arena, the National Exhibition and International Dog Show will host about 3,500 dogs of 300 breeds. Entry is 7€ per person, 5€ presenting the discount voucher which can be downloaded on the website of IFA (www.feria-alicante.com). They can also be purchased in advance at 4€ through the virtual booth IFA: tienda.feria-alicante.com.


During the winter the The Rojales Craft Market is open on the 1st Sunday of each month in the morning from 11am to 2pm. It’s is a fun place to visit if you are looking for a small gift, piece of art or decoration, don’t miss the monthly Craft Market at the Cuevas del Rodeo in Rojales. Local artists put their work on display along with other craft works to browse and enjoy. Also on the 1st Sunday of each month is the Ace Cafe Classic Car event, on the street outside La Torre Hotel in Los Montesinos from 11am to 1pm. Admission is free.


Another fun and unusual event for kids of all ages is the Torrellano Miniature Steam Train. It is run by the friends of the railways association and so is normally only open on Saturdays between 4pm and 8pm with Miniature Train Rides during February and March on the 2nd Sunday from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Every month the Friends of the Railways Association host a miniature train event at the railway museum in Torrellano. Donations of 1.50€ per visit are requested.


Jazz fans all over the region have been enjoying themselves at the 36th Edition of the Cartagena Jazz Festival. There are still a few more concerts to enjoy at the Cartagena Jazz Festival which runs through 26th November.


On Saturday 19th November at 9.30pm, Jacky Terrason & Cecile McLorin Salvant Trio: Nuevo Teatro Circo: Tickets: 18€. The headliner for the festival is Gregory Porter who performs at the El Batel on Friday 25th November at 9.30pm: Tickets: 25€. The following night at 9.30pm, the festival finishes with Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah and Madeleine Peyroux are at the Nuevo
