Quesada Bowls Club Report sponsored by Spanish Life Properties
With the start of our winter season, two of our teams are riding high in their leagues, the Pearls in the South Alicante League and the Swallows in the Southern League. The Winter League team has got off to a mixed start; however our Berleen team is heading their league.
This month we have some very good news to report after the finals of the Valencian Championships:-
Ladies Singles winner - Jacqui Johnston Ladies Pairs winners - Peta Rhodes & Carol Broomfield Mixed Pairs winners - Carol Broomfield & Jason Prokopowycz
Well done to David Johnston on reaching the semi-final of the men’s singles and to Terry Morgan, Tanya Oliver and Peter Morgan on reaching the semi-finals of the mixed triples, only missing a trip to the final by the tightest of measures. See photos.
At the end of November Carol Broomfield will be representing Spain in the World Bowls Championships in New Zealand. Carol was originally the travelling reserve for the ladies but after her recent successes in the Saba Knock-Out Championships and Valencian Championships she has now been selected to skip the Ladies Pairs, so we wish her every success.
On 26th November our annual President v Captain match will be taking place, which will be followed by a light lunch in The Club.
Our Saturday morning ‘Chicken Drive’ is open to visitors. Players wishing to take part should report at 9.45am for a 10am start.
For more information about our club please contact our membership secretary Joe Riley on 96 572 5787 or email
