Never Give Up Autism is extremely complicated, but knowledge and

understanding of this disorder is continuously growing. As part of the medical community working towards solutions for autism, Dr. Buckley looks to her daughter for guidance. “I’ve always said to her, Dani, what is it you want me to tell folks today?” Dani’s answer is always the same: “Mommy, tell them to never give up.” Jill says despite the challenges of autism, this is what all parents should always carry with them—hope. “As long as you have hope, you can kind of do anything.”

parents with autistic children to seek support from their peers. “It’s very nice to be in a situation where everybody gets it,” she says. “We encourage folks to meet each other and to develop that sense of community, because it just makes it an awful lot easier.”
