Sarah was spurred into politics after David Cameron’s invitation to those with backgrounds outside politics to bring their practical experience to westminster. Sarah hit the headlines in August 2009 when she became the first parliamentary candidate to be selected by an all-postal open primary ballot. From over one hundred applicants, the final shortlist of 3 candidates was chosen by the local association, and then all 67,773 voters in the totnes constituency were able to chose who they would like to represent the Conservatives at the general election. there was an enthusiastic response and Sarah was the clear winner with almost half of the votes cast. Malleticious are an award winning percussion duo originally from the South west, bringing you a varied repertoire, including reich, Mozart, Zappa and original compositions on a variety of instruments from snare drum to djembe and marimba to log drum. Harriet riley and Molly lopresti grew up playing percussion together. in 2012, Molly reached the televised percussion final of the bbC Young Musician of the Year. both now studying at music college, they are interested in creating and performing a new repertoire for percussion instruments. their sound-world combines rhythmic melodies with technical virtuosity. Having performed at venues such as the wales Millenium Centre, Dartington great Hall and bath international festival of Music, Malleticious promises to deliver an explosive evening of music.
