VOLGA-DNEPR AIRLINES WINS RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT AWARD FOR HIGH SOCIAL EFFICIENCY


Volga-Dnepr Airlines was one of the award winners in the Russian Organisation of High Social Effi ciency’s federal contest to recognize companies that support the health and wellbeing of their employees.


The airline was recognised in the award category entitled ‘Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle In Production Sphere Organizations’.

to grow and develop. Good health is normal for Volga-Dnepr’s employees as we offer a comprehensive system that supports staff in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The aviation industry demands that its participants consistently demonstrate a very high level of concentration as well as intellectual and physical attention and that’s why a healthy lifestyle for us is a real necessity,” said Vladimir Yakovlev, Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Vice President, Human Resources.


The contest is an initiative by Russia’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. More than 40 businesses participated in the competition and the awards ceremony to celebrate the winners took place in the Russian White House in Moscow.


“Taking care of employees and understanding and anticipating social issues helps Russian companies to achieve profi tability and successfully resist crisis situations in the economic sphere,” said Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.


IATA RENEWS VOLGA- DNEPR AIRLINES’ OPERATIONAL SAFETY CERTIFICATE FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE TIME


Volga-Dnepr Airlines has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certifi cate for the fourth time.


The audit included a compliance check for 950 IOSA requirements and was conducted over a fi ve-day period by representatives of Quali-audit (France). As part of the certifi cation process,


they performed a detailed review and inspection of Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ key areas of activity, including its management system, aviation security, fl ight operations, aircraft maintenance, cargo operations and ground handling.


Quali-audit experts noted the continued progress being achieved by Volga-Dnepr Airlines and were particularly impressed by the airline’s new Flight Operations Control Center, which opened last year, and its Training Center, which is equipped with a full An-124-100 aircraft fl ight simulator mounted on a motion system.


IOSA registration has to be revalidated every two years. In the aviation fi eld, the IATA Operational Safety Audit is recognised as the best evidence of safe operational activity and reliability of airlines. In 2007, Volga-Dnepr Airlines


was the fi rst company in Russia and the CIS and only the second cargo airline in the world (after Lufthansa) to be certifi ed for its compliance with the new version of IATA safety standards.
