10th March THE EVACUATION WALKS Blackawton east allington 2013 marks 70 years since the villages around Slapton were ‘asked’ to evacuate themselves inland. As a lead in to these celebrations come and walk a series of 4 walks which outline the boundary of that evacuation. Valerie Belsey will pres- ent some memories of those who were there, along with evidence of wartime farming, and maybe some of you who come along might have memories to contribute too. 5 miles, muddy in places. 13th April LOVING THE BEACH GATHERING MATERIALS! slapton ley TheTheaker family, from Kingsbridge, are putting on an art exhibition at Harbour


House in July. It will highlight the issues of the quantity of rubbish washed up every day on beaches in the South Hams and the damage being done to our oceans through the amount of materials which are discharged into the sea.
