James Moore was born in the Parish of St. Luke’s, London, Middlesex. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 89th Foot at Westminster on 31 March 1858, aged 23 years. With the regiment he served over 11 years in the East Indies. He was discharged at Netley on 8 April 1879 after completing his second period of limited engagement. With copied service papers.

James Lake was born in the Parish of Fennington, Gloucestershire. A Farm Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Royal Artillery at Cirencester on 19 October 1855, aged 19 years, 2 months. He transferred to the R.H.A. in April 1875. Lake served over 4 years in India. Awarded four Good Conduct Badges in addition to his L.S. & G.C. Medal. He was discharged at Dorchester on 24 October 1872 having completed his second period of limited engagement. With copied service papers. .

James Curtis was born in Roselea, Co. Tipperary. He attested for the 2nd Royal Surrey Regiment of Militia at Guildford, Surrey on 24 January 1861, aged 16 years. He attested for service as a Band Bugler in the Royal Military College on 3 February 1863. He served throughout in England, being awarded the Long Service medal in October 1881. As a Band Sergeant he was discharged after giving notice on 16 June 1890.
James Thomas George Curtis, son of the above, was born in Sandhurst, Berkshire. He followed his father and enlisted into the Band Corps of the Royal Military College on 4 February 1891, aged 14 years. He served throughout his career in England. As a Corporal he was discharged on 3 February 1912. He died in Sydney, Australia in 1954. Both with copied service papers.

Archibald Eric William Tyrrell was born in Dover on 18 July 1900 - his father was a senior N.C.O. in the Suffolk Regiment. Archibald Tyrrell followed his father into the Suffolks and as a Bandsman he was appointed a Lance-Corporal in February 1927; Corporal in March 1930 and Sergeant in February 1936. Awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal in 1933. Retiring c.1938/39, he became a Storekeeper with Counties Lubricant Co, Soham, Cambridgeshire. He died in 1953. With some copied notes.
