Daisy: We were busy bees that night and after some delicious food and cock-
tails, we dashed next to the Hillcrest Block Party after making a stop at House Boi to have a cocktail with the guys from
dirtytony.com. Yum and Yum all around. Jessica: We had plenty of time inside to check out the block party and to catch
Neon Hitch perform. That girl can rock and can love you good—but I can love you better! On Saturday we got up bright and early to get to get our selves dolled up for the Pride Festival in Balboa Park. We emceed at the main stage, right as the folks were coming in from the parade. Daisy: Thank God for the breeze and shade, because a girl’s makeup can melt in high temperatures! It was great to be back on the Pride stage introduc-
ing the acts for the crowds. After our time slot, we greeted readers and fans at The Rage Monthly booth. It’s always so nice to get feedback and to meet our readers. Jessica: Thank you Gloria for having us back this year working the main stage!
Next year will be better because we will be prepared for the heat! After a nap and shower and a fresh coat of make up we headed to Eden to see

ADVENTURES
e’re writing this month’s column with a detox drink, while relaxing with clay masques on our faces. July has been so busy and stressful, that we needed a spa day to recover and get ready for all the events to come in August. In July we celebrated our sister’s day of birth with, Bar- barah’s Birthday at the Brass Rail on Saturday, July 11—I guess
you could say we christened her arrival with Divas! Daisy: It was fun putting together the special numbers with Barbarah and then
surprising her with Jessica! Jessica: I love my sister so much that I canceled my business trip to Miami to
surprised her! The following weekend was all about the sexy geeks and nerds at Comic-Con.
This year the convention got even bigger, with displays spilling out to the hotels and lawns surrounding the Convention Center—with so much walking to do, sensible shoes were a must. Sexy geeks roamed the aisle of the Con and we were in heaven looking at all the movie and TV show promotions and buying some really expensive toys. Jessica: I was so excited to see that they had a Hello Kitty section with a real-live
Kitty and I got to take a pic with her! Daisy: It was “truly outrageous” that I did not get my hands on a special edition
Jem doll. I had to look online for it but I did come home with a really cute My Little Pony unicorn… and the phone numbers of some sexy nerds! Every weekend in July there was something to do and after Comic-Con, we only
had a few days to put together outfits for SD Pride! On Friday we kicked off the weekend by attending the Rob Benzon Foundation Party. It featured lots of yummy food by local restaurants and plenty of cocktails…did we mention the sexy models in the Mankind fashion show? Mmmmmmm.
60 RAGE monthly | AUGUST 2012
our girl Deborah Cox perform and to dance with the sexy crowd. Jessica: Wow was Eden packed! Deborah rocked the house and it was nice to mingle with Rodney Santiago from the A-List New York and Emmet from Queer as Folk. I’m so sad that Eden closed its doors on Friday, July 27! Daisy: So many people! It had been a while since we were out dancing and we
kept it up till our sore feet said no more. I will miss frolicking at Eden. We hope everyone had fun and a great pride with their friends and family. That brings us to what’s coming up in August. We love the theater and we are
going to head to San Diego Repertory Theatre to check out Zoot Suit, which is showing through Sunday, August 12. Wednesday August 15 we will be at Brass Rail to celebrate our very own Pup
Nick’s 21st Bday by enjoying the fun show by the Golden Chicks. Come out and wish him happy bday, he might let you rub his belly!!! We love Mama’s Kitchen’s Annual Wine Tasting event, and it is back Thurs-
day, August 16 at Bourbon Street—a yearly event not to be missed. Enjoy wine and great food, while support one of the most giving organizations in our com- munity. Bourbon Street will be full of wine once again from 6 to 9p.m. get your tickets at
mamaskitchen.org. Daisy: Tip it! Tip it now! Jessica: I can’t wait to be with you all, helping such a great cause, while sipping
some yummy vino! Live performances are always on the top of our list and we are excited to attend
the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus presentation of Let’s Misbehave! The Music and Wit of Cole Porter, Friday, August 24 through Sunday, August 26. Grab your ticket at
sdgmc.org. One event that we are busily dress shopping for is the 2012 Nicky’s. The com-
munity awards are being held Sunday, August 26 at the Marriot in Mission Valley. We are totally excited about all The Rage Monthly’s nominations: Outstanding Pub- lication, Outstanding Columnist—Daisy Torres (I think Jessica needs to be added to that since it’s a coauthor column), Outstanding Female Impersonator—Jessica D’Nalga, Outstanding Businessman—Jay Jones and Outstanding Writer—Joel Martens. So don’t forget to vote before Wednesday, August 15 and make sure to purchase your tickets for the event at
nickys.com. Daisy: Thanks for the nomination everyone and you know I will be looking sexy
in my outfit that night! Jessica: Thanks to all our readers and the fans for this nomination! Let’s party
and be prepared to see me get my Nicky! Escandalo! And with that we say adios amigos until next month. Have fun be safe and drop these girls some love on-line on facebook.
