Plaque psoriasis, the most common form of the skin disease. Guttate psoriasis, which is a form that often has its beginnings in childhood. And-


Inverse psoriasis, which affects the groin, armpits, genitals, buttocks and underneath the breasts.


Over 4.5 million adults in the United States have been diagnosed with this disease with over 150,000 new cases being diagnosed each year and yes, hormone imbal- ance, adrenal fatigue and the stresses of Peri menopause and Menopause can- and often DO- make it worse.


Of these cases, approxi- mately 20% are affected with moderate/severe forms.


Psoriasis is an equal op- portunity disease, affect- ing both men and women.


It seems to occur most often in Caucasians and is lesser known or totally non-existent in African Americans, Native Ameri- cans and Asians.


The symptoms of this de- bilitating disease usually show up between the ages of 15 and 40, though it is indicated that some sort of trigger is required to awaken the disease process the first time. Hello Hormones!


These triggers are usually: stress, infections, viruses, injuries, and medications such as anti-malarial drugs, lithium, high blood pressure, heart medications and miscella- neous other stressors.


There is no known 'cure'.


While Psoriasis has been around since at least 35 AD, scientists are only now begin- ning to understand the far-reaching and often dangerous consequences of this dis- ease.
