Bernice Sinclair,
from Franklin, N.H., became America’s Florence Night- ingale through the four years of World War II. She was a graduate of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital of Nursing in 1924. For over a decade she taught nursing as an instructor in Nursing Arts to over 800 Brigham students, and at Chil-
dren’s Hospital, and Sim- mons College as well. Sud- denly, in May of 1940, she was appointed Chief Nurse for the U.S. Army’s Fifth General Hospital, also known as the Harvard Medical Unit. will have the opportunity to spend an entire day exploring five different art forms at the Win- nipesaukee Playhouse’s Children’s Arts Work- shop on Saturday, March 31st, from 9am-2pm at the Playhouse’s Meredith Campus at 50 Reservoir Road. This workshop will be inspired by the pro- duction of Alice in Won- derland which the Play- house’s Teen and Youth Ensemble will be perform- ing in early April. Participants will be di-
