New Faces/New Features by David B. Walls, CAE, CMP

New Faces The passing of the MTLA gavel and

bell at the Annual President’s Dinner on May 11, 2007, marked the transition in leadership from Beth Jesukiewicz Frey to David F. Albright, Jr. MTLA congratu- lates our new president and Executive Committee, as well as returning and new members of the board, committees and sections. Each member of the Executive Committee and board is an integral part of MTLA’s success. The staff and I look forward to working with this new team on another successful year. The new board has some new and

many familiar faces. We also have some new committees and some have changed in structure and focus. A list of the board and committee leaders can be found on

page 4. Take a few moments to review the list, so that you become familiar with the players and their roles. If you would like to volunteer as a member of a committee, contact the chair directly. The committees are meeting over the next couple of months to finish projects started last year and are planning new projects.

Staff Changes Deana Carter is our new Administra-

tive Coordinator and Lauren Sapolsky is our new Conference Coordinator. Deana joined us in April and Lauren joined us in June. They have jumped right in and are enthusiastic about the challenges ahead.

New Features I am excited that MTLA ended its fis-

cal year (June 30) as strong as ever. We are also turning the corner on some new features.
