President’s Message by David F. Albright, Jr.
I am delighted and humbled to be
your president for 2007-2008. My pre- decessor, Beth Frey, was a wonderful president who intimately understood the inner workings of MTLA. She used that knowledge to greatly help Mary- land families. My successor, Wayne Willoughby, has a deep understanding of the legislative process and will be a fabulous president. My experience lies primarily with the fundraising chal- lenges of MTLA—many of you have undoubtedly received a call or two from me in the past. You can relax because this column will not be an exhortation for more giving. High accolades are due section and
committee chairs who spend an enor- mous amount of time for little public recognition. Similar praise is due our fantastic partners who work at the MTLA office to make sure that income and expenditures are well-balanced, ed- ucational programs run smoothly, and daily operations are done efficiently.
