REMODELORS COUNCIL NEWS

started writing this month’s column on the bus heading to Austin for Rally Day, the bi-annual pilgrimage of builders from around the state to voice our concerns to our legislative members. If you haven’t been on this trip in the past, don’t miss the next one in 2013. Houston led the state in participation, by far, with nearly 200 members making the trek; kudos to those who went.

Be Heard I

The GHBA leadership, Texas Association of Builders and the National Association of Home Builders work hard to represent the industry at the local, state and national levels. They get plenty of feedback from builders and developers, and many of their concerns are shared by remodelers. But they need our help, as remodelers, to help inform them of issues we see rising. With so many different municipalities, it is hard for the GHBA Government Affairs Committee to be aware of all changes and potential changes in the works.

That’s where we come in; the remodeler members of the GHBA collectively work in every municipality and county in the Greater Houston area. We need to get both “tuned in” to what is going on in our markets and let our Government Affairs team know of these issues. They are more than willing to go to work on our behalf.

Upcoming Remodelors Council Special Events

There are a couple of special events in the coming months that warrant mentioning.
