be done, it can. I’m defying everything that people have said. I want to be influential and if I wasn’t then people wouldn’t be wearing my clothing, other people have UKSP tattoos. That’s all something, that show’s me my support, that even some signed artists don’t have. My fan base and internet presence is there, so it’s about putting it out there more.
Kix: What type of music did you grow up listening to and did that shape the music you make today?
Breakbeat: I listened to alot of Gospel, Soul, MoTown and Reg- gae, my dad loved Reggae, my father was always telling me to get into sequencing. I’ve always been exposed to a wide range of music from the
beginning, so that’s been a part of me.
Kix: Who are you listening to now? Breakbeat: I listen to alot of UK music. Tinie Tempah has good records that I’m feeling especially since Labrinth, because Labrinth is like a little brother to me. I grew up with Labrinth’s older brother Josh, who plays drums for Tinie. We all grew up in East London so we know there is alot talent in East. I just like UK music because it’s really healthy, there are alot of talented artists out there. I like

Young O’s music and what he’s doing also.
Kix: You have quite a distinctive look and are easily
recognisable, but how would you describe Breakbeat as an artist and how does Aaron differ? Breakbeat: I’d describe myself as an artistic entrepreneur. It’s not just music, it’s also the clothing, my swagger, so if you take it all into one entity that’s Breakbeat UKSP, that’s one big umbrella. Music, fashion and lifestyle. What people need to understand is that I don’t have a 9-5, music is my 9-5. It’s what I live, breath, eat. I’ve grown up knowing this is what I want to do and certain people just wanna start doing this now and they’re finding it hard be- cause of the sacrifices that go along with it. You know sometimes you might come up and it is less than what you expected but if the passion is at the forefront then that is what will keep you going. It’s not for everyone, not everyone is cut out for it.
Kix: How do you get your Kix? Breakbeat: Banging drums hanging out with hot girls and Kiss My Beats.
