PETROL COUPONS


Duty Free Fuel Coupons cannot be sold to you unless you have a Vehicle Registration Card (issued when you BFG your vehicle) with an up to date and valid light/roadworthiness stamp on it. Petrol coupons, which are rationed, are available from the Garrison Central Banks.


POSTAL SERVICES


Deutsche Post is the name for the German Postal Service. The Neighbourhood post office is now a sort of one-stop shopping centre. It will usually be a stationery store with a counter where you can buy stamps, mail a package, deposit or withdraw money and apply for a credit card. The German post office has a reputation for speedy delivery; the private company delivers 95% of letters within one day and 99% within two days. Most packages can be delivered within a 400km radius in one day and nationwide within two days. For further details, visit the HIVE and pick up a “How to Germany” booklet which will give your approximate costing for postage. BFPO Post - normal UK Post Office facilities available on your Garrison where the BFPO charges standard UK postal rates. The usual Passport Applications forms etc can be collected from here too. The counters sell stamps, postal orders and have details of how to send parcels to Operational areas.


PETS


If you wish to bring a cat or dog into Germany, the animal must have been vaccinated for rabies at least 30 days, but no more than 12 months prior to its entry. Proof of examination must be presented at the border.


DOGS


Dog Registering Office: 05251 101106 Mil: 3106. Certain breeds of dogs are banned for example, Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Bull terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers. When you arrive in BFG you must register your dog at the Housing Office, Barker Barracks.
