Asos launches new Marketplace website What a great way for Asos to increase its product offer and scope out potential brands to stock without the risk attached to investing in them. Kate Middleton’s Issa engagement dress sells out Of course the dress has sold out – the professional lookalikes needed to get their costume urgently! Posted: November 2
Up and running: shoppers and indie retailers can buy and sell on Marketplace
products without their permission. However, trademark law may
bite to stop the use of parodies of other companies’ registered names, logos and slogans too. European law protects well-

careful in how they make fashion statements. What might seem like
a clever, humorous adaptation of a famous brand may nevertheless get them into hot water. Shireen Peermohamed, partner, Harbottle & Lewis, London
This Fashion Life: co-owner of Resurrection Lisa Pritchard Lisa and Rob [Pritchard, co-owners of Liverpool indie Resurrection] are without doubt some of my favourite clients.
