Ajax Downs, the Quarter Racing Owners of Ontario, Inc. and other cor- poration donations will provide funding for the special day. Ajax Downs will also be donating 50 cents from the sale of every race program for the entire season. Alexander Picov would be proud to see how far his dream has

Sixteen Countries to Attend Youth World Cup


The American Quarter Horse Jour- nal, June 16, 2010 - The American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup, an international leadership event that includes educational horse- manship clinics and a friendly Olympic-style competi- tion, is hosting youth from 16 countries July 3-11 in Oklahoma City.


Each of the 16 teams consist of five competing American Quarter Horse Youth Association mem- bers. Additionally, teams can bring leadership par- ticipants.

Government of Ontario re-appoints Pam Frostad as ORC Commissioner


Toronto, ON – Chair Rod Seiling announced that the Government of Ontario has reappointed Pam Frostad of Toronto for a three (3) year term, effec- tive June 11, 2010. Ms. Frostad was first named to the Board of the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) in 2008. “Her first-hand knowledge of horse racing as an owner and industry


marketer brings a welcome skill set to the Board of the ORC,” said Seiling. “And as we deal with the realities fac- ing the racing industry in years ahead, we will count on all members of the Board who have such good judgement, experience and appreciation of the wel- fare of all participants.”

Since then, the Youth World Cup has been held in Canada; Italy, Australia; Germany; and in the United States, Texas


and Arizona. This is the first year the Youth World Cup will be held in Oklahoma.
