Our Sport and Recreation Service (Sport Brighton) is looking for customer focused and experienced industry level professionals to deliver great sporting and fitness opportunities for students, staff and the wider community. The university has invested almost £9million into developing sporting opportunity in the past year and to further enhance our sports facility portfolio we are pleased to announce the opening of a fantastic new sports centre and new netball/tennis centre on our Falmer campus in Brighton. We now wish to recruit 5 new full-time posts to bring this facility on-line and enhance our existing operation. Sport Brighton operates across a number of sites in Brighton and in Eastbourne and flexibility to work between sites on occasion will be necessary. Duty Officer (2 posts)

from £23,566 to £26,523 per annum plus enhancements for shift working

As part of a vibrant, forward thinking team you will work on a rota to oversee facility operations ensuring high levels of customer service, health & safety and quality assurance. A sound working knowledge of the leisure industry at a technical/supervisory level is essential to allow you to fulfil your part in developing Sport Brighton activities & programmes. You will also have the opportunity to provide coaching and instruction appropriate to your qualification and take responsibility for areas of expertise. Ref: SR5066

Participation Officer

from £20,327 to £22,879 per annum

Working with established university sports clubs you will contribute to their ongoing development, delivering exciting and innovative programmes to increase sports participation and engage both students and staff in physical activity, across the sites of the university. You will need to be enthusiastic, organised, a good communicator and have experience in delivering sports programmes and the ability to transport equipment between sites is essential. Senior Recreation Assistant (2 posts)

from £17,606 to £19,743 per annum plus enhancements for shift working

In this varied role, you will work within a pro-active team of operational staff on a rota to deliver sport, fitness and recreation activities, providing an efficient and customer focussed service. You will assist the duty officers in the day to day delivery of Sport Brighton aims and objectives, ensuring facility use and programme delivery conforms to best practice. You will also have the opportunity to provide coaching and instruction appropriate to your
