PRO-ACTIVE North London is one of London’s five sub- regional sport and physical activity Partnerships hosted by Middlesex University, based at the University’s Hendon campus. The Partnership covers Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest and aims to increase participation and widen access to sport and physical activity across all sections of the community. Managing all outdoor leisure activities in Parks for the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea this is a role where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate flair and creativity to develop existing and introduce new activities and events.
Working in partnership with our Client you will have the responsibilty for meeting our joint social objectives and at the same time maximize commercial opportunities.
Excellent interpersonal client and public facing skills are needed. You’ll be a strong people manager, able to be hands on and lead by example. Demonstrable commercial acumen, an LAM/IRSM/Certificate in Leisure Management or equivalent compensating skills are required.
This is the opportunity to work in a high profile role to make your mark and gain the recognition you deserve. Weekend or evening work will be required.
Volunteers and community sports providers are an integral part of the sport and physical activity infrastructure. The aims of this post are to support the development of community sports providers as well as taking a North London lead on developing a system to recruit, deploy and support sports volunteers effectively. We are seeking an exceptional officer to drive forward this important work area and play a key role in the achievement of the Partnership’s objectives.
You will have:
– some experience of community sport development and volunteer management
– the ability to demonstrate how you have worked successfully in a partnership setting
– good project management and communication skills
– a passion for the development of sport and physical activity
– the motivation to achieve high standards and understand and promote equal opportunities.
This is a temporary 18-month appointment.
