Reshmee Rehal won a trip to the Maldives after taking Hilton Family Maldives’ TTGKnowledge College training module
10:00 My alarm is buzzing and it’s time to wake up. The warm sun is streaming through my win- dow at the Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort & Spa as I jump into my outdoor rainfall shower and throw on a summer dress. I call for a buggy to take me to breakfast.
10:40 My buggy driver, Mandal, picks me up. He always has such a lovely smile on his face. At the buffet there’s a choice of a full Maldivian, full English, fresh pancakes, freshly squeezed juices and any style of egg. There are also cold meats, cheeses, breads, fruits and yoghurts. I go for sausages, bacon, beans, French toast and a cheese and ham omlette, freshly-made in front of me. It’s delicious.
11:15 I head back to my room and pack for the beach. It’s 31 degrees so I make sure I take suntan lotion. I have my own sunbed just in front of the sea, and apart from the couple in the bungalow next door it’s deserted. Bliss.
13:00 Getting hungry so I head to Fluid, a stunning
restaurant built around the main pool. I find a lovely cushioned sunbed and a menu and I’m soon tucking into a pizza and a cocktail.

14:30 Spa time! The route to the spa is amazing. It’s like you are going into a secret garden with pools and gorgeous flower bushes. Zey, the lovely spa man- ager, and her Balinese spa team offer me a towel and a cold glass of ginger tea. They lead me to my own villa where I have a wonderfully relaxing aromatherapy massage.
17:30 Our next excursion is dolphin spotting on the Luxury Lucky Dolphin Cruise. As our boat takes us out we see around 50 beautiful dolphins jumping up from the sea. We’re also treated to champagne and canapes.
20:00 Dinner is back at the Iru restaurant, where an in- ternational buffet including
Indian, Maldivian and Italian cuisine has been laid on. With so much choice I decide to have a bit of everything, followed by chocolate ice cream with vanilla sauce, and a creme brule. I’ll deal with the diet when I'm home!
21:00 Spend the remainder of the evening relaxing at the Water’s Edge bar with a few cocktails while watching Maldivian performers playing the drums and dancing. It’s fantastic to experience some local culture.
00:00 Back at my villa I decide to do some reading while listening to the waves from my own private gazebo. After a while I feel sleepy and decide to get some rest, ready for my next “hectic” day.
