ttglive.com Page & Moy turns over new leaf

PAGE & MOY is launching its first full Wildlife & Culture brochure this month, featuring destina- tions such as Sri Lanka, Namibia, Mexico, Borneo and New Zealand. The tours include: butterfly migration in

Mexico; sea turtles and bear monkeys in Sri Lanka; huskies and northern lights in Norway; and meerkats and mountains in South Africa. A preview brochure was released in July. Many are led by local experts, including the South Africa tour, which features Devey Who, a meerkat expert who has spent 20 years studying the creatures. The 11-day Butterflies & Mexican culture tour

starts from £1,699 for dates in January and February 2011. The price is based on two people sharing and includes return flights from Heathrow to Mexico City, nine nights accommo- dation — three in Mexico City, three in Angangueo, one in Patzcuaro, one in Morelia and one in Guanajuato — as well as breakfasts, lunches, excursions and guide. Page & Moy has also beefed up its trade sales team by appointing Julie Franklin from the Elite Travel Group as a sales executive.

Franklin, who was commercial and membership manager at Elite, will start on September 13 and will be responsible for agency relationships in the Midlands and the south of England. The company said that her appointment also means that agency sales manager Joseph Grimley will be able to spend more time at trade events.

Collette cuts prices for new brochure

COLLETTE WORLDWIDE has cut the cost of many tours in its 2011-12 brochure to below 2010 prices. The company’s UK general manager, Peter

Traynor, said it could cut the prices as it had negotiated good deals with suppliers who were thankful for Collette’s support over the past year. Having weathered the recession well — trading

positively in every month since January 2009 — Collette has been able to give suppliers guaranteed levels of business, meaning they were happy to offer good deals next year, Traynor added. Japan’s Hidden Treasures holiday is £890 cheaper than 2010 for departures in March and April. Wonders of Iceland; Treasures of Angkor Wat & Vietnam; Legendary Waterways of Europe, and Best of China also have lower prices. New tours for 2011 are Exploring Thailand &

Laos; Wines and Wonders of South America; Alaska Discovery; America’s Music Cities; Discover Croa- tia, and An Odyssey to Israel and Jordan. Bookings made before December 31 will bag clients a £100 discount per person and agents £20, which is double the previous year’s cash incentive.
