without a physical card and enjoy the convenience of cashless transactions using their smartphones. The technology can help operators deliver targeted incentives to their players’ mobile phones and cultivate valuable data to manage a truly efficient, streamlined marketing experience. Sina Miri, IGT’s VP of Casino Systems, spoke to
Casino International to give us some idea of how the product evolved, and why it’s just so good.
Casino International: What is Cardless Connect? Sina Miri: It’s as simple as enabling players to use a smartphone and the casino’s mobile app to serve as a
player loyalty card. Cardless Connect eliminates the need for a plastic player card altogether.
CI: How does it work? SM: When you walk into a property that has
Cardless Connect integrated in its casino app, Cardless Connect technology enables players to simply tap their phone on a card reader on a slot machine to “card in” and receive all of the same benefits that they would by inserting a player card. The operator can reach out to new and existing
customers and encourage them to download their app and use it throughout the property to receive incentives, promotions and invitations to tournaments. The customer never has to stand in line or go to a player’s club to get a physical card issued; they don’t have to worry about forgetting or losing the card, because it’s on their phone. They
