Flower power April is a great time to be in Amsterdam when the city blooms, so try to book clients into the Conservatorium, which will be adorned with tulips for the annual Tulip Festival. The hotel is offering a two-night Flower Power Package (April 1-May 15, minimum stay two nights, €660 per night) with tickets to flower garden De Keukenhof – where seven million spring-flowering tulips will be on display, conservatoriumhotel.com

Pottering around This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of children’s writer Helen Beatrix Potter, who spent her own childhood holidays in the Lake District. The publication of a newly discovered Potter story, The Tale of Kitty-in- Boots, will renew interest so suggest clients follow in her footsteps with a stay at Armathwaite Hall in Keswick

(prideofbritainhotels.com) or Gilpin Hotel and Lake House, thegilpin.co.uk

Give us a ring The pretty pastels of the new Bon Bon range from British designer Sarah Parham’s SVP Jewellery will help brighten up spring outfits – we like the Margot Blue Topaz ring (£399) or the Blue Chalcedony (£160) option (pictured), svpjewellery.com

Life is suite La Suite West, the boutique hideaway in Kensington, has launched some spring-like packages, such as Wellness Brunches with dining at its vegan restaurant Raw (from April 18, £25pp); Pilates sessions in Hyde Park will also be available. Spring in their step Spring is the time when many hotels emerge blinking from the winter, dusting off the deckchairs and taking the covers off the pool. Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat (fourseasons.com/ capferrat – pictured) will have its first full season under Four Seasons management and has new activities, such as swimming at Club Dauphin taught by Pierre Gruneberg, who lists Robin Williams and Aristotle Onassis as pupils, while new bikes means guests can cycle the coast. Sardinia’s Forte Village (fortevillageresort.com) opens on April 11 with three new villas and Forte Bay, with football pitches, a basketball court, beach volley area and new Fish Bar & Pasta House. Kefalonia’s 28-room beachfront boutique hotel F Zeen (uniquekefalonia.com) will be rolling out new outdoor yoga classes and more therapists, while the F Ble restaurant will introduce more vegetarian and vegan options. On the wellness theme, Marbella Club (marbellaclub.com) has upped its game, with a new range of programmes. In Ibiza, party hotel Ushuaia (ushuaiaibiza.com) in Playa de Bossa has its opening party on May 28 with a line-up led by Richie Hawtin. Adriatic Luxury Hotels (adriaticluxuryhotels.com) is offering a Dubrovnik Discovery package, with a stay at Hotel Excelsior from £234 per night.

Vive the Renaissance The V&A’s headline exhibition Botticelli Reimagined celebrates the work of the Italian Renaissance master with a range of 150 works exploring how artists and designers have responded to his legacy. To celebrate, the Jumeirah Carlton Tower (jumeirah.com/jct) has a new package (from £449 per night) with breakfast, two tickets to the show, a copy of the accompanying book; and Botticelli-inspired sweet treats. One of the artist’s most beautiful classics, The Birth of Venus, is in the Uffizi, so also suggest a stay at the revamped Savoy in Florence, roccofortehotels.com

All scarves are created in Lake Como and are inspired by the designer’s memories of summers spent in English gardens, sevdalondon

Gardener’s world Visitors to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show (May 24-28) will be able to take a rest from the crowds with an afternoon tea (from £60pp) in a bespoke pop-up created on-site by The Dorchester’s head pastry chef David Girard and designer florist Philip Hammond (book tickets for the show at theticketfactory.com). Meanwhile, Belmond – with Bowdens – will create history by putting together the largest display since the show began 102 years ago and will include

Zena, a 1920s carriage from the British Pullman, and two “platforms”, belmond.com

Take the biscuit Afternoon teas can sometimes seem ten-a-penny in London, but this one takes some beating. The Berkeley’s famous Pret-A-Portea has launched one that will celebrate HRM Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. The Royal Collection (from April 18-24, £45pp) will see biscuits, fancies and choux buns transformed to resemble hats worn by the royals, the- berkeley.co.uk
