Q: What is DTP Solutionpath’s ethos?
✥ In essence, we leverage data to create actionable insights that make fundamental differences to organisations. Q: Can you tell us how data insight solutions have changed over the last few years? ✥ Traditional business intelligence (BI) has been about looking in the past to understand what has gone on whereas now analytics is more about looking forwards to improve future outcomes. The biggest change enabling
this is the agility of available new technologies: speed and ease of deployment means empowerment of the operational teams. There has been a significant
technology shift which, by using a data analytics service such as those provided by Solutionpath, gives the user an individual dashboard, which mines data from disparate sources, quickly. Previously applications would have been integrated which meant extensive development cycles. Data insight was once the
realm of the dark corners of IT; now we can deliver insight into simple dashboards to users – even to the student, informing them of how they are progressing in their studies. Consequently, it’s now much
quicker to analyse data and easier to make decisions based upon the
findings. Quite simply it’s 'analytics as you need it'.
Q: How do these changes benefit professionals in the education sector? ✥ Everyone in the education sector should be taking note as these services can help most roles within an educational context, particularly in analysing trends, identifying paterns in behaviour, operational inefficiency and student centric analysis. Furthermore, by centralising information, it prevents effort duplication, increases time to action and offers routes to timely intervention. Those responsible for providing
support services, whether tutors or administrators, can benefit from knowing which services are being used by a student or groups of students. This means that the support they offer can be tailored to individual needs dependent on their resource usage, or lack of, and highlight them for intervention. Those in senior management
positions are usually concerned with how to empower their teams with the information they need to make good decisions to improve performance. Solutionpath’s user interface is delivered with this in mind, taking all of the information to support the student and delivering it to those who need it.
