New tesa® hand tool gives glass partitioning the edge

esa’s recent introduction of the new tesa® ACXplus 705X range of double sided tapes for bonding glass partition walls in premises has already caught the attention of the construction and building supplies industries.

t the

In line with its commitment to tesacohesion™ company’s

comprehensive programme of

customer service and added value, the tesa® edge applicator has been introduced to facilitate manual processes in delivering optimal results on glass partition walls.

Once glass edges have been cleaned, the tesa® edge applicator hand tool ensures quick assembly of glass partitions, allowing the tape to be easily applied in a straight line to one edge of the glass. To achieve the best results, tesa also recommends using a pressure roller during application to ensure good adhesion and to avoid air bubbles. Offering enhanced functionality with a fast and robust bond, the ultra transparent tesa® ACXplus 705X family creates an invisible bond on many slim designs and different substrates such as glass, polycarbonate, aluminium and more.

New Oxley LED lamps from Aerco A

roviding a reliable connection in environments subject to severe shock and vibration, the new TBC plug connectors from Multi-Contact are suitable for both mobile and stationary applications. Low contact resistance and a long lifetime are ensured by the use of the company’s Multilam technology. Their rugged, high performance insulation is resistant to fuels and other hydrocarbons and can withstand temperatures across a wide range from -40°C to +125°C. Available with 6mm and 8mm contact diameters and in two and three pole versions, the TBC range is rated for voltages up to 1000 V and continuous currents as high as 180 A. Simple to connect and disconnect, their flat space-saving design incorporates a locking catch and prevents pole reversal due to incorrect coupling. Environmental protection is IP2X unmated and IP54 mated when using heat shrink sleeving.

Proto Labs®presents LSR moulding service at Med-Tech Innovation 2014

P

roto Labs, the fastest service for bespoke prototype and low-volume parts in the World, will present its new LSR (liquid silicone rubber) injection moulding service at Med-Tech

Innovation 2014 (Ricoh Arena, Coventry, 2-3 April). LSR is an established engineering material that is particularly suitable for applications in the medical sector – it can withstand sterilisation and is biocompatible so works well for products requiring skin contact. With this new offering, Proto Labs brings a practical and cost effective way to get real LSR

parts, really fast. Quantities from just 25 to more than 5,000 parts can be delivered in no more than three weeks and sometimes, depending on part complexity and of course when you need them, even shorter. Visitors to Stand 36 at Med-Tech Innovation 2014 will have the opportunity to see a demonstration of the Proto Labs online quoting systems, discuss ideas and project requirements with members of the Proto Labs team, discovering how to reduce the time and cost of product development – and get product to market faster.

Collection Grippers Deliver Productive Collect & Place

or the first time, SCHUNK, the competence leader for clamping technology and gripping systems, presents a universally usable collection gripper with its new RVK.

F

Developed to significantly increase the productivity of pick & place applications the RVK works with a different collect & place principle. Instead of gripping components and then individually moving and placing them, as is usual in high-performance assembly, the method used by the RVK has several parts being first collected successively and then moved to the assembly site and deposited there in rapid succession. By working

in this way, the traverse paths can be

significantly reduced and up to six different parts are handled in the same cycle, therefore dramatically reducing cycle times. The collection gripper from the innovative family-owned company can be equipped with up to six standard grippers from the world's most comprehensive product range for gripping systems by SCHUNK.

Kennametal again adds to the ability of manufacturing customers around the world to further their productivity with the new Beyond™ Medium Roughing (MR) geometry for turning. Turning more parts per shift or extending tool life is a common “either-or” tradeoff throughout the world’s shop floors. Suitable for a wide range of workpiece materials, but ideal for stainless steels, Kennametal’s new Beyond MR inserts are a product of ongoing design leadership, engineering, materials science, and manufacturing that delivers a perfect combination of smooth cutting action and stable edge performance. Faster cycle times and long tool life are the results.
