EC Distribution, as one of ARCOL Resistor’s premier distribution partners, has announced that the MRA range of High-Precision Meta Film Resistors has been extended to now offer a maximum
Metal Film Resistors B
power dissipation of 2W. The
specifications, including the value range, tolerance options and TCR of the whole family of Metal Film resistors have all also been extended. The MRA range of Meta Film Resistors is Europe’s No 1 selling Axial Thin-Film High-Precision Resistor family. The high-precision manufacturing uses a “sputter” technique
process to create stable metal
films on high-purity alumina rods. The films are then covered in tough epoxy to protect from any environmental extremes. There are now five power options available:
1/8W; 1/4W; 1/2W; 1W; and 2W, with maximum operating voltages varying from 200V to 500V.

manufactured to the highest standards, for use in harsh and/or extreme environments,
Designed and the
exceptionally robust Belden DataTuff Industrial Ethernet cable and connectivity range is able to guarantee the highest levels of reliability, quality and performance.
The Belden DataTuff product portfolio covers all areas of the industrial environment, from the cabinet through the telecommunications room to the factory floor, ending on the actual machine. Specifiers can choose from products suitable for indoor and outdoor applications,
for use
underground, and for other harsh conditions. Options include Cat 7 and Cat 5e, with PVC,
FRNC, TPE and PUR jackets, shielded or
unshielded, twisted pair and bonded pair. Cordsets are available with RJ45 and M12 connectors, and IP20, IP67 and IP68 protection.
The cabling meets all data rate requirements,
ranging from 100 Mb/s, through 1 Gb/s, to 10 Gb/s. Other choices include solid conductor, cabinet style cabling, and highly flexible trailing cables with resistance for more than 2 million cycles, or torsion cables which withstand up to 10 million cycles.

Selector Guide To help IE network designers and specifiers navigate through the DataTuff portfolio’s vast range of options, Belden has introduced a Cable Selector Guide. At the end of 5 key decision points, the customer reaches a part number that answer the particular needs of the specific application.
A key feature of the DataTuff range is the Belden patented Bonded-Pair technology,
for
specific applications where the cable is pulled, twisted and stepped on during and after installation. Thanks to its unique construction, the Bonded Pair technology keeps a continuously uniform centricity, ie conductor-to-conductor spacing,
offering excellent and consistently
reliable electrical performance. Web:

nap&Fix® is an innovative new product from Eurobond Adhesives Ltd that offers designers and design engineers a whole new world of possibilities of permanently or temporarily fixing two materials together.
re-closable
fastening system that works on the principle of interlocking plastic ‘mushroom heads’ which provide an ‘extremely strong’ and durable bond between two substrates. Snap&Fix® can be fastened and released as often as required.
The extruded mushroom heads are supplied in a roll length format with a high performance, pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive backing or it can will be supplied as small rigid countersunk plastic blocks and squares which can be bonded or mechanically fixed to walls or hard surfaces to act as fixing points.
These can then be mated with another block to form permanent or temporary join. Snap&Fix is a fantastic way of fixing, interiors to cars, boats, caravans, modular buildings, for use in fixing inspection panels, furniture manufacture, mirror mounting and so many other applications!
It will bond together most metals, plastics, modern composites, wood, glass in any combination. And the great thing is you can disassemble them too!
Snap&Fix® is already approved for use by some of the world’s leading car manufacturers including VW, Ford, Volvo and BMW.

Ruggedised PLCs will boost processing uptime at
Lapland gold mine A
BB is currently upgrading the automation system at Agnico Eagle's gold mine in Lapland, with eight of its latest ruggedised PLCs for controlling equipment in harsh conditions and extreme climates. The PLCs will control the sedimentation process of the concentrating mill at Europe's largest gold mine, Agnico Eagle, in northern Finland which is 150 km inside the Arctic Circle near the town of Kittila. ABB won the original contract for the main automation system at the gold mine, and configured and installed electrical automation based on its 800xA Extended Automation system and industrial IT architecture. The project involved a large amount of ABB automation components including ABB's 800 series operator interface panels and AC500 PLCs for the underground control of pumps, air conditioning, the motors used in ore crushing and processing, etc.
