PRODUCTS ENCLOSURES & AIR MOVERS NEW MODELS ADDED TO 19IN CABINET RANGE

Three CamRack cabinet ranges are available from CamdenBoss for cabling, telecommunications, IT and industrial installations. These are said to complement the CamRack QX series. Delivered flat-packed, the

CamRack-SX SOHO (Small Office,

Home Office) models are 7U high wall-mounted cabinets. There are two mounting profiles – variable depth in 20mm increments with numbered Us optional (template for wall mounting included). Features include fast fixings with ¼-turn locks, front door with tempered smoked safety glass, no rear panel or door, cable-entry options for top panels and cantilever tray. Delivered assembled, the

CamRack-WX series 19in cabinets are wall-mounted and offer accessibility from front, rear and sides without tools. Said to make equipment and cabling installation easy while also allowing quick and simple maintenance, these offer a high level of security with a single key-operated lock at the front blocking all access. Top and bottom cable entries offer capacity

of 100 cables. These are available in standard heights of six, nine, 12 and 15U. Also available are the LX series

floor-standing 19in modular cabinets which can be assembled in five minutes. These have an aluminium profile external structure with die cast high resistance corners, four steel 19in sections adjustable in depths (gaps of 20mm), removable side panels with ¼-turn locks, lockable steel rear door, ¼-turn locking ventilated top panels with cable entries, and four adjustable levelling feet. Distributed load capacity for these is 1000kg (static) or 300kg (dynamic) and a range of accessories is available.

Manufactured from ASA Luran, Rolec’s new technoPLUS series of IP66-rated enclosures does not degrade in sunlight. As a result, the range is suitable for outdoor applications such as base stations, monitoring equipment and detection equipment. Features include hinged lid trims which hide all the mounting

and fixing screws for added security and superior weather protection. The lid is recessed to enable accurate assembly of a membrane keypad or label; and retaining straps hold the lid in place. The enclosure can be installed with the lid closed, helping to protect any fragile electronics inside. An optional mast/pole attachment enables the enclosures to be

installed quickly and easily on lampposts, poles or communications masts, explains the company. The range is available with IP66 or IP67 protection ratings and

in five sizes from 130 x 90 x 70mm to 270 x 170 x 90mm. It is certified to GOST R (Russian Standards) and the standard gasket is silicone, although an EMC gasket is also available.

NEW CASES FOR SMALL PCBS

According to Pentair, with its new Schroff Interscale M cases it has gone beyond the 19” industry standard to include cases for small and non- standardised PCBs. Research by the company found that users wanted a small, compact construction that is also robust, with ease of assembly and convenient mounting options for the electronics inside. Other requests included high quality, EM interference protection, a wide range of standard sizes, modification options and customised alterations. As a result, the new cases, which

are available in 21 sizes, correspond to IP 30 and consist of four parts that can be easily assembled and dismantled with two screws. EM interference protection is provided by the interlocking case walls and offers some 20dB at up to 2GHz; and standard accessories allow the user to integrate their electronics quickly and simply. Removable front and rear elements give easy access to the electronics. In addition, extra modifications such as case colour, cut-outs and printing on the front and rear panels can be carried out.

NEMA 4/4X PROTECTION CATEGORY ADDED TO ENCLOSURE RANGE

Thanks to a new NEMA 4/4x protection category, Rittal’s SE 8 enclosure range is now suitable for use in extreme conditions. The SE 8 enclosure type has UL, cUL and

NEMA 12 (IP55 equivalent) approvals as standard, with protection class NEMA 12 as the default. The optional NEMA 4 (for steel enclosures) and NEMA 4x classifications (for stainless steel ones), which roughly correspond to IP66, mean the enclosures offer increased defence against wind-driven dust, rain, splashed water and water jets, as well as from damage caused by external ice formation. To achieve this new classification,

modifications have been made to the range – the door and rear panel have been reinforced with a tubular door frame, integrated through a one-piece floor plate with an all-round seal in the base area of the enclosure. Unlike baying suites with frames and

removable side panels, the body of the SE 8 free-standing enclosure consists of two side panels and a roof which is made from one piece of sheet steel. The rear panel can be unscrewed for easy access to the enclosure.
