FEATURE EXHIBITION PREVIEW Those visiting Lenze on D470 will be
able to find out about the g500 range of geared motors, which takes advantage of the latest developments in materials and machining to get more drive torque out of a given size. At the same time weight is reduced and a high running efficiency is achieved with four alternative types of AC motor. The g500 range will be launched at Drives & Controls for output torques up to 600Nm. Also on display will be the new range of c300 and p300 controllers; and visitors will be able to find out about the Lenze Smart Motor. By adding intelligence to asynchronous motors, the Lenze Smart Motor allows running speeds to be freely set anywhere from 500 to 2600 r/min.
FIVE DAYS OF MACH: 7-11TH APRIL 2014 AT THE NEC
MACH, the showcase for advances in the manufacturing industry brought to you by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), will be taking place at the NEC, Birmingham from 7-11th April. According to the organiser, in 2012 over 6,000 tonnes of live working machinery was on display, attracting over 21,500 visitors, however MACH 2014 promises to be bigger and better. The show is diverse, the company explains, covering all aspects of manufacturing at all levels of the supply chain and support services. In addition, a seminar programme will be taking place across all five days of the show. Among those exhibiting this year are ABB, which will showcase its latest developments in robotic
automation, with an integrated demonstration cell featuring the IRB 6700, IRB 2600 and IRB 140 robots. A highlight of the stand will be the new IRB6700, the seventh generation large ABB robot which is said to feature a multitude of improvements. SICK UK will be showing a broad portfolio of innovations to achieve improved process and production efficiency, with products including new industrial sensors, auto ident devices, machine safety, fluid sensors, vision systems, measurement sensors and encoders that employ the latest advances in measurement and supported interface technologies. There will also be the launch of the SICK Flexi Loop machine safety connectivity solution, and visitors will receive an update on the growing adoption of Hiperface DSL (Digital-Servo-Link) motor feedback interface igus will use the exhibition to showcase the latest additions to its drylin W hybrid systems and
CP Automaton’s RevCon passive harmonic filters
CP Automation (stand D646) will be
exhibiting it’s Comsys and RevCon ranges of active and passive harmonic filters. The company will be on stand D646, alongside products from suppliers including Cressall Resistors, Re-Spa, Chiaravalli, TAE, Roxburgh, Comsys and RevCon.

manufacturing industry. On display will be the LMI Gocator series of smart 3D cameras and the BOA range of 2D smart cameras from Teledyne DALSA.
