For me the golf season really kicks off in a few weeks time with the battle for that historic Green Jacket. As a lover of all sport, sitting down and


watching the world’s best having to negotiate Amen Corner is up there with the year’s sporting highlights. Call me nostalgic but I think I’ll be having a few quid on ‘The Big Easy’ Ernie Els! With six top 10 finishes at the Masters including two second placed finishes, Big Ern loves the course and it really is a pleasure to see him back in the World’s Top 20 aſter falling to as low as 50th in the world over the last couple of years. If my Mystic Meg impression proves to be correct, get ready to stock up on a few of his endorsed products! Good news for the likes of ECCO and Adams! In this issue Carly Frost investigates the retro resurgence appearing on our golf courses (which fits in nicely with the above!) and I speak to The Golf Show Group’s Damian Benstead on their intention to open up their consumer shows to the trade market. Sceptical? So was I but check out page 22 to find out more. Let’s hope this deluge of wet weather is truly at an end!
