Children's Independent Retailer of the Year
Chris Gorrod, Managing Director of Rieker added: "The Awards evening is a great night that allows the footwear industry (especially in our sector) customers and suppliers to meet and network together. This is the only event that allows this to happen. The Awards that are given out on the night then help in rewarding companies and individuals who during the past year have excelled in what they do. All very worthwhile and important. For companies such as ourselves winning the awards is an indication that we are continuing to do the right thing, in the right way and that our product is working in the market place. It also drives us to do better and better each year as we are aware there are so many excellent other suppliers trying to win the awards next year.
Remonte, part of the Rieker group is
sponsoring a brand new award, 'National Shop Front of the Year'. Chris Gorrod explained: "The window to a retailer is very important for driving footfall. Some retailers spend a lot of time on it and these shopkeepers should be rewarded. This is a great opportunity for Remonte and the industry to reward the hard work that retailers put into their windows."
The 'National Shop Front of the Year Award is
for independent retailers only. They are advised to send in photos every time they change their display, right up until the deadline of 1st January 2014. The FIA team, Footwear Today Editor, Cheryl Taylor, the SSF, IFRA and BFA will select a winner to be announced on the night and presented with £1500 of holiday vouchers. Retailers can also be nominated by somebody else. The FIA team will contact the nominated retailer to ask them to supply evidence, to be in with a chance of winning this exciting award and the holiday vouchers that come with it!
Nominations open 14th September. IFRA's
Arthur Spencer-Bolland said: "I look forward to seeing even more independents involved in the nominating and voting process in 2014, as the brands become more proactive in canvassing on their behalf."
