In addition footwear buyers from footwear specific retailers including Sole Trader and Author also attended the three-day event which took place from August 4-6 at London Olympia. Those visiting the show were in an upbeat mood, with most buyers reporting that the recent spell of warm weather has led to increased sales, leaving them feeling positive about the SS14 season.

Over 1000 brands across womenswear, young

fashion, footwear and accessories presented their forward-order SS14 and short-order AW13 collections at the three-day show which took place at London Olympia from August 4th-6th.

etailer Secret Sales commented: “It is great to have a local tradeshow for us to visit here in London and there are some really great brands in the footwear section.”

Footwear brands exhibiting at the show were in a similarly positive mood, with several reporting that this season’s edition of Pure London was extremely successful for them. Julian Hakes, who was exhibiting his

eponymous brand Julian Hakes with footwear distributor Highline United Europe, Pure London’s footwear category sponsors, commented that he had a very positive show.

“I have seen some great new accounts as well

as a fair few of my existing accounts,” he said. “There are also a fair few international buyers here too.”

John Liddle sales manager at footwear brand Moda in Pelle added: “We haven’t had a show like this at Pure London for seven or eight years. The stand has been absolutely rammed and the reaction to the new collection has been brilliant.”

Mason Young UK sales and marketing manager

“We have had an amazing show and opened

lots of new accounts,” he added. The level of international buyers at Pure

London was significant this season with countries including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, China, the US and Hong Kong, all represented at the show. Charlotte Hayman international sales manager

at footwear brand Ruby Shoo said: “We have had lots of great international buyers on the stand from places like Portugal, Norway, Belgium and America.”

With over 40 hours of insight from over 50

industry experts, Pure London once again also upheld its reputation as a vital live resource for business and trend advice. A dedicated footwear and accessories catwalk took place five times over the three day show and also proved a popular draw for buyers scouting out the latest footwear and accessory trends.

Ahead of this August’s show, Pure London announced significant investment from parent company i2i Events, which will see the show unveil a new vision for the brand from its February 2014 edition. Following in-depth research with over 700

buyers, labels and brands, the future framework of the event will be based around the three most important elements buyers said they wanted from Pure London: a unique mix of labels and brands, authoritative insight into trends and an inspirational environment to showcase the best of European fashion.

As part of this new vision for Pure London, the

show will undergo a significant re-edit which will mark the beginning of a new era for the event.

Buyers and brands at this week’s show were

excited about the changes and said they were looking forward to hearing more about the organisers’ plans for the February edition.

Deryane Tadd owner of award-winning indie

The Dressing Room in St Albans said: “ Pure London is an essential event in my buying calendar every season and I am always impressed with the show. I usually find new clothing and accessories brands and this season was no exception, placing several orders.

“I am really excited about the plans for the

show and I can’t wait to see what it looks like in February. I think re-editing the show will really help buyers to be more targeted and ensure they don’t miss new collections which could be really relevant for their business.” Brands were similarly excited about the plans.

Tony Evans managing director of footwear supply business Jacobson Group, which owns footwear brands including Ravel and Babycham, said: “I will be interested to see what they do with the show, I think looking at the editing and giving it a refresh can only be a good thing.”

Rob Sewell footwear agent for Laidback

London summed up the mood of the show this season. He said: “Laidback London had a very positive show at Pure London and we opened up many new accounts.”
