Get ready for the Footwear Industry
Awards 2014 sponsored by Clarks
D
atateam Business Media is delighted to announce that Clarks has signed up as overall event sponsor. Founded in 1825, Clarks still remains the number one shoe brand in the UK, and the fourth largest footwear
company in the world. Clarks has come a long way since its humble beginnings in Somerset, but has never lost sight of effortless British style. With celebrities from Suki Waterhouse to Caroline Flack embracing the brand for the first time this year, it’s clear Clarks’ fashion forward styles continue to have a place in the heart of the nation –both for style and substance.
Head of Sales Adam Marsden said: "Clarks are delighted to sponsor the
Footwear Industry awards which celebrates the best of footwear retailing in both Independent and Multiple retailer categories as well as recognising the best of the brands which support them. We are proud to be working with a large number of these retailers and to play a part in celebrating their success. The awards are an important event in the annual footwear calendar and is well attended by a cross section of the footwear industry providing a great opportunity to meet up with other retailers/brands and catch up with friends."
The Footwear Industry Awards 2014 will take place on 16th February at the National Motorcycle Museum following the first day of Moda. Chairman of the British Footwear Association Richard Kottler said: "The Footwear Awards goes from strength to strength and is rapidly becoming a must-go-to feature of the industry diary. In addition to more people attending, what was most encouraging at the the 2013 event was the broad spread of companies

represented - manufacturers, strong established brands, up and coming next generation brands, private label operators and sales agencies and distributors - a great representation of our sector. We recommend that as many footwear companies as possible decide to attend the 2014 event - not just to have a chance of winning one of the prestigious awards, but to be part of a truly industry wide get together"
Laura West, Secretary of The Society of Shoe Fitters added: "The Awards Dinner is a great addition and start to the calendar year. The evening is glamorous, fun, highly unpredictable and priced affordably, allowing us the chance to reward our outstanding Student of the Year. There is still a wonderful camarderie between shoe people whether you are a retailer or supplier, so having an event that brings the whole industry together in celebration - whether successful or not, sharing good food, good wine and good company, is well worth the time and money."
Garvalin has supported these Awards from their first year. Nick West the
UK Agent said: "Spain respects family values and appreciates the traditions of the UK market by developing their ranges accordingly. They know many independents have had a raw deal from some of their suppliers over recent years and needs companies to invest in them - if only for a good night out! Anything that brings the trade together in co-operation and celebration has to be a good thing. The event is professionally run, listens to feedback and suggestions and continues to improve year on year, so we should all to make the effort to attend."
