Golden Service Awards 2013
Judging commences for the 2013Golden Service Awards
The entries are in for the 2013 Kimberly- Clark Professional Golden Service Awards and the judging process has started. The awards are designed to single out the very best in the cleaning andmaintenance in- dustries and the rigourous process of as- sessing the entrants reflects that. “The whole idea of the Kimberly-Clark
Professional Golden Service Awards is to recognise the extremely high standards that the best people in this industry achieve, day in, day out,” said Stephen Kerr, regional sales leader for UK, Ireland, Nordic and Benelux at Kimberly-Clark Pro- fessional. “We’ve worked very hard to come up with a systemthat everyone involved can see is totally fair and is based on judge- ments by people who really know the in- dustry they’re judging.” For a start, the judges are independent.
The sponsors, very deliberately, take a back seat and let the expertsmake a balanced and unbiased choice. That’s the principle fromthe start. The awards are open to all. You do not, for example, have to be a cus- tomer of Kimberly-Clark Professional or registered with any trade associations to enter the Golden Service Awards.

The judging panel in- cludes representatives fromCleaning & Maintenancemagazine, the Cleaning & Support Services Association and The British Cleaning Council. The awards process has been refined
fromyear to year and in 2013 there have been a series of changes to the award cat-
egories. Most sections have been revised in some way to take account of changes to the industry and the experience of previous awards processes. There are some com- pletely new categories, including a category for premises cleaned by central or local government in-house cleaning teams and one for external pedestrian areas and street furniture. There is also a new cate- gory formodes of transport, including boats, trains, planes, or any other way of moving people around you can come up with.
