White Elephants with the Stupa at Kathmandu.

Lord Ganesh, the Hindu elephant headed god.

have a tradition of offering sanctuary and care to white elephants. In the old days, Burmese royal families sought the capture of White Elephants; success in doing so is deemed as a divine mandate to rule. Historically, the Tais, Burmese,

Persians and Indians have used elephants as vehicles of war. Teir large towering bodies, thick skins covered with armour and imposing presence made them formidable to lesser armies. When Alexander the Great descended into the Hindu Kush, he realised that victory could be assured only if he could somehow defeat the elephants; he devised many methods for his soldiers to injure war elephants ridden by Indian and Persian generals. He also

believed in the symbolic and spiritual guardianship brought by elephants and was known to station four elephants on the four corners of his war tent to act as protective guardians. Tis was perhaps the historic moment that gave birth to the tradition of placing elephants as door guardians of a home! Elephants have been recognized as divine creatures since Paleolithic times. If you visit the ancient sites of

Africa, you will find rock paintings and engravings showing prehistoric tribes that have worshipped these powerful mammals. Till today, the M’buti tribe of Congo have a belief that the souls of their dead ancestors reside within the elephant, and all the wisdom, foresight and experiences of village chieftains reincarnate into the elephant. The Igbo-Ukwu tribe of Nigeria believes that the Spirit Elephant manifests during death to guide the dead into the after world, and so all their tribal leaders are buried with elephant tusks. Te Elephant is a symbol of many good things, as it represents all that is auspicious both materially and spiritually. In 2013, the 24 Mountains Chart brings with it three Small Auspicious Stars and four Big Auspicious Stars in the South, Northwest, North, and Southeast. You can unlock the positive energies of these stars placing a pair of White Elephants in these sectors of your home.

A Pair of Prosperity Elephants will usher new wealth into your home!
