AMITABHA BUDDHA also in white marble and also from Burma. Tis is the Buddha of the Western paradise and surrounding it are imported hibiscus flowers in different colours, which bloom on an almost-daily basis.

AUSPICIOUS THREE HILLOCKS nearby are artificially created to symbolize three peaks, said to attract great success luck to the boys of the family. I have also placed smaller Buddha statues carved in white marble here to carry on the theme of my home. I am planting the flowers in the garden as offerings to the holy objects placed here so I am not surprised they bloom so lush and so frequently. It is lovely walking here in the early evenings when the dark has just settled as the moon and at least the evening star are almost always clearly visible on cloudless nights. Tis is a great time to do my walking meditations. In the daytime I see both the rising and the setting sun so my view of the heavens can often be quite spectacular.

GOLDEN STUPA A gift to me from one of my gurus, this is given pride of place in the patio area. It is placed in a way that enables me to circumambulate round it, as doing so generates good karmic merit and purifies negative karma. I find it lovely reciting mantras while walking round the Stupa and to be able to do it daily in my own home must surely be such a blessing!

PATH OF FLOWERS generates a feast for the eyes. Visually, these multicoloured periwinkles create a very soft and friendly ambience in my outdoor area and it draws me out many times through the day. Tis incredibly beautiful two coloured bougainvillea meanwhile was planted from a small cutting taken from a larger plant at the back of my house. Malaysia has some of the most beautiful varieties of bougainvillea as they do extremely well in bright sunshine. However, I do make certain to snip off the sharp thorns whenever they appear. Tis is important, as otherwise they can send out secret poison arrows to residents.

BIG KUAN YIN CORNER Looking at this Chinese antique bed gives us a cool outdoor area to have tea and cakes whenever someone visits. Tis is also a great place to sit for an evening meal whenever the weather cools down. I always make sure to display lots of crystal balls to create plentiful auspicious Earth element energy. Tere are also other auspicious feng shui enhancers that I display on my Kopitiam tables and on my walls. See if you can spot them!
