Motorized hinge slotting tool Great Planes has come up with a dandy
tool to cut and enlarge hinge slots in wings, stabilizers, flaps, and elevators. Item num- ber GPMR4010 Slot Machine (U.S. Patent #6,094,826) provides a convenient way to easily cut your hinge slots. It has three dif- ferent blade thicknesses to support your every need. The GPMR4015 Slot Machine Blades for CA hinges are the thinner of the triad. The GPMR4016 Slot Machine Blades for Nylon hinges will suffice for the usual choice of hinges on average size stunters. A great Great Planes prop reamer I have owned several prop reamers and
have been satisfied with all of them, and then I came across a really fine tool in the way of
the Great Planes item. It is constructed of hardened carbon steel and utilizes a stepped design to increase the accuracy of the cut. It has a T-handle, which is removable to allow a strong cutting force, and the handle can be easily removed so the tool can be held in a drill press for even more precision. There’s also a plastic storage case to house the tool.
you with any size blades in all balsa sur- faces. I also find that the GPMR4005 Preci- sion Hinge Marking Tool helps to make cen- ter lines on all surfaces—both stationary and movable. For safety, read the instruc- tions carefully and follow all safety guide- lines to prevent injury while using this fine tool. Please order from your local hobby store first. If you do not have one close, go to
http://www.greatplanes.com and make your order from there. Prices have gone up since I purchased mine, but check either your hobby store or the Great Planes web- site for current costs and shipping.
