Cover to cover First I want to thank you for your inspi-

ration when I was a teenager and now as a retiree. I can remember when I used to run down-

stairs during an FDNY Holy Name break- fast to purchase your magazine at the Grand Central Terminal news stand. I read it cov- er to cover many times. My Dad passed away with a broken heart.

Anticipation One of my greatest pleasures is looking forward to receiving each month’s edition of FLYING MODELS. I have been involved in freeflight modeling since I was nine, some 60 years ago and your excellent publication keeps me up to date. I especially enjoy Don Ross, Larry Kruse,

Mike Myers’ columns. I even read Allen Brickhaus and the other columns. My three grandsons are always thumbing through the magazines as I have every FMedition. Keep up the great work and remember to “twist ’em up and let ’em go.

Credit where due Many thanks for publishing the 3D Dyke

Delta in the June issue. Thought it came out looking very good after first read through, though I can’t really take credit for the Peanut Dyke Delta design. I built it from a set of Ken Johnson plans that ap- peared in the February 1981 Model Builder years ago. Ken’s was purely indoor, I mod- ified mine (heaved up structure) for outdoor use. I hope the readership enjoys the material

and you don’t get too much flack about “flat plate foamie” models.

He never got over 9-11; it hurt him to the core. He was an FDNY fire Lieutenant for over 30 years. Getting back to the planes. He saved the planes, pictured here, for me for over 50 years. I promised myself to fix them proper- ly in his memory and theirs. Notice the FDNY emblem on the tail of the P-47. Both kits are Top Flite C/L .15 glow scale, 1957–58. So thanks for the fond memories and We will remember...
