A beautiful burnished Flite Metal finish covers Roy Maynard’s ¹⁄₄.₂₅ scale CT- 114 Tutor(above left). Thrust comes from a Hammer 180 turbine. Designed and built by Martin Irvine, his Aviatik D.I (above right) is 31.35% scale at 99 inches.
Its dummy engine has over 600 parts. A Hyperion brushless motor turns the prop on Allen Mrock’s 104-inch Sikorsky S-39 (below left). Featured in the June FM, Rob Caso’s superb scratchbuilt Halberstadt CL.2 (below right) is ¹⁄₉ scale.
A diorama surrounded Charles Chomos’ big F4U-1A Corsair (above left). It depicts the 1943 VF-17 Jolly Rogers. John Redman built this P-47D Thunderbolt (above right) from a Hangar 9 kit then weathered it and applied rivet detail. The
Senior Skylark (below left) that Dave Platt showed was a 1965 Carl Goldberg design built from Early RC plans. Charles Chomos displayed his 96-inch R/C Guff (below right) along with the 1950 Telecommander transmitter he uses to fly it.
