mentoring and professional development

collaboration helped you in your growth and student learning. Mentioning that you collaborated with colleagues is not sufficient in this section. Paint a picture of how collaboration with others helped you in growing as a music educator and how collaboration had an effect on student learning.

Finally, fill in completion dates for all of your objectives and activities. You can insert these completion dates in Part II E. of your PDP. Remember to look back at your activities and your annual reviews to ensure that you included any addi- tions or deletions of activities and those completion dates. When submitting your completed plan to the review team, be sure to include a copy of your goal approval

signature form or some sort of proof that your goal was approved. Proof that your goal was approved is required as part of your completed PDP.

General Tips for Completing Your PDP Participate in the activities that you have outlined in your PDP.

Collect evidence from these activities over time so that you have a variety to choose from when selecting your evidence.

Be selective and choose your evidence wisely so that it demonstrates your pro- fessional growth and student learning over time.

Use the checklist questions after each step in the PDP so that you include the necessary information. These checklist questions are the same questions that the reviewers use to verify completion of your plan.

After you have completed your plan and submitted it to your team for verification, think about how you want to continue your growth as a music educator. The overall goal of this PDP and the next plan is to enable you to become the best music educator you can be!
