Chapter 8. Fluvial Processes, Patterns and Landforms Chapter 9. Glacial Processes, Patterns and Landforms Chapter 10. Coastal Processes, Patterns and Landforms Chapter 11. Mass Movement Processes, Patterns and Landforms
Note
You are expected to have a general knowledge of all surface processes named in chapters 8, 9, 10 and 11. This means that you must be able to name and describe all the processes and identify the landforms created on diagrams, maps and photos. In addition, you must focus on one chapter (8 or 9 or 10 or 11) of your choice and
be able to describe in detail the formation of the landforms. You must also study human interaction with river processes OR coastal processes
OR mass movement processes. Higher Level students should study how landforms represent a balance between internal and surface forces.
Surface processes can change in their strength and frequency,
influencing the development of landforms. These processes also change over time and place (temporally and spatially). Human activities can impact on the operation of surface processes.
