SMD NTC & PTC thermistors


ATC Semitec now stocks and supplies a wide range of SMD NTC and PTC thermistors for temperature control and protection of electronic circuits.


The ‘ATCSM’ SMD NTC series has chip sizes of 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206.


Resistance (R25) values are available from 2kΩ to 470kΩ with a wide range of tolerances (from ±1% to ±5%) to help you fine-tune them to your application.


The ATCSM series offers accurate temperature


control (as close as ±0.3K accuracy at 25°C) or general ambient compensation (e.g. ±5% gives an accuracy of ±1.5K at 25°C) if that is all the accuracy that is required.


Regarding the SMD PTC series, the TPM chip thermistors offer low-cost ‘switching’ temperatures from 65°C to 135°C. Available in 0402, 0603 and 0805 size packages, the TPM exhibits a step-function change in resistance (from typically 500Ω at room temperature to >5000Ω at 5K higher than their switch point) making them simple to incorporate into electronic circuits and offering vital circuit protection.
