Introduction...

Gas detection and measurement is growing in importance in a wide variety of applications, and in parallel with this companies across the world are refining their technology, and are developing new products that are both reliable and highly accurate.

Selecting the right tool for your gas detection/measurement application could, however, be a complex task due to the different types of products that are currently available. Do you need a detector or an analyser, for example, or what type of sensor do you need? Or does your application require a handheld device such as a monitor or infrared camera?

To help ease the selection process, this ‘Gas detection and measurement supplement’ is designed to cover the latest products, their features and benefits. It also includes supplier information with which you will be able to contact companies to purchase or enquire, in order to select the ideal product for your application.

For example, this supplement covers product areas including: • Gas analysers

• Gas sensors • Calibration gas systems

• Pyroelectric detectors • Infrared cameras • Thermistors

So if you’re looking for a specific product to help with your gas detection/measurement needs, or need ideas and advice on the most suitable technology to use for an application, this supplement should help provide the answers.

COVER STORY

When working in confined spaces while harnessed and carrying tools, the last thing a worker needs to worry about is his or her gas detector. To meet requirements, Crowcon has developed Gas-Pro, a detector design specifically for confined space entry (CSE) applications

Cambridge Sensotec is an ISO9001 accredited company that manufactures the Rapidox range of portable and bench mounted gas analysers.

The Rapidox range is noted for its ease of use, electrochemical

or zirconia O2 sensors, extremely high sensitivity and long life expectancy. The company can also offer a number of dual gas analysers as well as the Rapidox SF6 Multimeter which is specifi- cally designed for use in the power industry. Its analysers can

be used for a huge variety of applications in industrial and research applications.

Cambridge Sensotec can now offer fully panel mountable ver- sions of its popular 1100Z, 1100E, 1100L and 2100 oxygen analysers. These panel mounted versions include an easy to use interface on the front along with a large digital LCD display. All the fittings are placed on the rear of the device for ease of access and to allow neat and tidy panel installation. The standard analyser comes with

a 300mm x 4U bezel anodised 2mm aluminium panel, which was manufactured specially for use with the Rapidox machines. Other

sizes can be produced on request. The operation, features and software remain the same as the original units. This allows exist- ing customers to convert to the panel mount version, should they need to, seamlessly without the

need to install new software. New users can be assured that the user friendly menu system allows them complete control over all Rapidox functions.
