PLANE


Airlines from around the world fly into airports across northern England. The main airports are Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Blackpool. All provide car rental points and transport connections to Cumbria.

With a timetable and a little planning you can enjoy CAR-FREE days. “The Lakesrider,” a brochure listing all the Summer timetables, is available from the National Park Information Centre in the Moot Hall. BIKE


There is a whole range of routes from the Coast to Coast (C2C 71) to the forest roads at Whinlatter Forest Centre. Bike hire and information is readily available. (See page 34) www.KeswickBikes.co.uk

CAR


Though there are seven car parks in Keswick, spaces are at a premium at peak periods and are strictly wardened. Car park regulations require you to park totally within marked bays. A disc system is in force on streets in the central area; parking discs are available in most businesses and the National Park Information Centre.


Keswick motorists using Bell Close, Lakeside, Otley Road and Central car parks can pay for their car parking, and once parked, can extend the parking time by phone. Tel. 017687 59859 www.ringgo.co.uk
