Of Arlington, VA., formerly of Connellsville, passed away peacefully Wednesday October 6, 2010 at the home of her sister,Linda, after acourageous battle with ovarian cancer.She was born in Connellsville on Sept. 9, 1958. She was the daughter of Eugene J. Galiardi of Connellsville and the late Vivian (Nolan) Galiardi. Mary Susan attended Immaculate Conception grade school and graduated from Geibel High School in 1976. She received an associate’s degree from Gannon University in 1978 and also attended Westmoreland Community College. She was aformer member of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Connellsville and was amember of St. Charles Borromeo R.C. Church in Arlington, VA.Mary Susan retired in April 2010 after an outstanding 31 year career with the CIA. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and many friends. In addition to her father Mary Susan is survived by her sisters, Andrea Galiardi of Youngwood, Linda Galiardi of Connellsville, and Cynthia Rivosecchi and husband Joe of Gibsonia, She is also survived by two nephews Michael Galiardi of Connellsville and Joe Rivosecchi of

He served 10 years as an original Boardmember, and was twice-President of the BaltimoreCounty BoardofEthics for the BoardofEducation which he was instrumental in establishing on behalf of the BaltimoreCounty Public School System. He also attended and was Past-President of Faith Lutheran Church, in Cockeysville, MD.

Suddenly,onOctober 1, 2010, while vacationing in the Caribbean, Dr.Roland Louis Unger,CPA,passed away in Nassau, The Bahamas. Dr.Unger had become ill and was airlifted by the U.S. Coast Guard from the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Sea ship to ahospital in Nassau wherehedied. Dr.Unger was aCertified Public Accountant, and the Chief Accountant for the State of Maryland Comptrollers office. In addition to his private accounting practice, previously he was the Treasurer for the City of Westminster and an accountant for the State of Maryland Teachers&State Employees Supplemental Retirement System.
Prior to his career in accounting, Dr.Unger was a BaltimoreCity Police Officer.In1973, he went on to become aPolice Officer for BaltimoreCounty, serving on the Tactical Section S.W.A.T.Team. In 1977, he was the recipient of an awardfor an act of heroism in coming to the aid of afellow officer. He later retired from the BaltimoreCounty Tactical Team on disability.
In 1972, Dr.Unger joined the U.S. Naval Reserve and served as aClass ASignalman. He was honorably released from active duty in 1978. He was proud to serve, and was apatriotic and loyal American who loved his country.
Dr.Unger earned his Bachelor of Science at Towson State College, MD. He earned his Master of Business
Dr.Unger was born in Frederick, MD on December 11, 1949 and was the son of Louis Frank and Anna Elizabeth (Nee) Daylor Unger.Heissurvived by his loving wife, Ann Elizabeth LeonardUnger (Nee Nee) Slye, son Christian Michael Unger,daughter Christine Velinda Holmburg, son Jonathan Andrew Unger and daughter Sarah Elizabeth Unger.Heis the proud grandfather of William Brayden Unger. He is also survived by his former wife, friend, and mother of their children, Patrice Diane Unger,along with his former in-laws, Leo Henry and Shirley Johnson Ader.
Throughout his lifetime, Dr.Unger counseled the benefits of higher education and exemplified the fruits which such an opportunity provides. Passed from this life on September 16, 2010 in White Salmon, WA of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on February 15, 1934 to Lula Ida and Harold Irvin Bernard, the ninth child of afamily of four boys and five girls. She is survived by her sister,Carrie “Peggy” Parrot of Arlington, VA, daughter Dana, sons Ken and Karl, granddaugh- ters Laila, May and Erika and grandson Blake. Ruth was aunt to 27 nieces and nephews and great aunt to thirdand fourth generations of the Bernardfamily.Ruth attended Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. She grew up in and was very active in Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., especially as amember of the choir.After her 1952 marriage to John Winner,she was abusy homemaker and mother. She volunteered extensively in community orga- nizations such as Colonial Players Theater of Annapolis whereshe was an awardwinning costume designer.She retired from ARINC in Annapolis, MD. in 2000 and moved to the Colum- bia River Gorge to be close to her grandchildren. AMemorial Service was conducted September 26 at 5pmatSkyline Hospital in White Salmon WA.

He spent most of his adult life in Tucson where he taught Geography at Pima Community College.A memorial service will be held in Arlington or Bethany Beach, DE at a later time.
