styling that’s as acceptable now as it was then. The real masterstroke in the
Flamingo Nights experience though is the ongoing alliance with world-beating VJ
team Vlight, who’ll be installing their head-twisting visuals into Pacha to add to
the sensory overload that accompanies every visit to the club.

HE CAST
The dark foreST: Okay, so we all know the Swedish House Mafia boys are
the main guests, but if they’re looking to make an impression then booking the
most talented British MC of his generation is no bad move. Which is precisely what
they’ve done with the arrival of Dylan Mills, aka razor-tongued party starter Dizzee
Rascal, on 7th September.
Carnival dance duo Basement Jaxx showcase some of their forthcoming album on
14th September, with Arno Cost, Norman Dooray, Bob Sinclar, Roog, Dirty South,
Funkagenda and Kim Fai jetting in across the rest of the season’s dates.
fLaMinGo niGhTS: Where Flamingo Nights really hopes to up the ante is by
staging a series of mini-concerts. On 23rd June, Fedde has Brixton’s funk icons
The Stereo MCs performing live, while Ida Corr gives a rendition of ‘Let Me Think
About This’ (with Fedde) on 30th June. There’s also noise of a return visit from will
i.am and one absolutely colossal US act that would send the jaw of any hip-hop fan
plunging floorwards.
DJ-wise, Fedde’s recruits include his boy Funkerman, Toolroom’s Mark Knight, John
Dahlbäck, Martin Solveig, Tocadiso and the Tenaglia-endorsed Chus & Ceballos. The
Flamingo boss himself will be playing weekly too.

HE SOUNDTRACK
The dark foreST: Expect to hear Steve’s minimal melodic groover ‘Isabel’, Australian electro-rock band TV Rock. A remix he finished with the Pacha residency
which has Ibiza etched right across it, as does Seb’s infectious ‘Laktos Kids’ — his in mind, Axwell describes it as “sexy beats, massive chords and a vocal that lifts
now-official bootleg of MGMT’s soaring indie-pop sugar rush ‘Kids’. you up — pure Pacha”. Also keep an ear out for Steve and Seb’s collaboration with
Axwell, meanwhile, will be airing his arm-raising remix of ‘Feel It In The Air’ by N.E.R.D’s superfly guy Pharrell Williams.
fLaMinGo niGhTS: Expect to hear lots of Fedde’s forthcoming album ‘Output’,
which gets an official release in September. On a more club focused tip, Fedde will
surely be dropping his hypnotic tech-house rework of Josh Wink’s classic ‘Don’t
Laugh’ (released on Flamingo as ‘The Joker’), his official remixes of Fatboy Slim’s
‘Praise You’, Cassius’s ‘Sound Of Violence’ and Black Eyed Peas’ ‘I Got A Feeling’. Oh
and a new melodic vocal charged remix of his old track ‘New Life’.

THE DATES
The dark foreST: Every Monday at Pacha from 22nd June until 21st
September.
fLaMinGo niGhTS: Every Tuesday at Pacha from 16th June until 15th
September.
THE LAST WORD
SwediSh houSe Mafia: “Pacha is the best club in the world,” beams Axwell.
“The energy in there when you have a good night is just amazing. I have walked
away from so many parties with a big smile on my face and carried on for three days
after.”
“It feels like the best house party you’ve ever been to when it all goes off,” adds
Steve Angello. “That vibe is perfect for us. That’s what we’ll try to bring — one
huge party. Everything that we do right now is based on Mondays at Pacha, we
need to take this island by storm. And we will!”
fedde Le Grand: “I’m honoured to be given the night,” says Fedde. “Pacha
is one of those clubs you hear about from the first moment you get into dance
music — the first time you go there is like losing your virginity. For me, it’s one the
most intimate clubs you will ever play but at the same time there’s so many areas to
explore and each one has a really warm atmosphere to it.”
