NATIONAL ALUMNI ADVISORY BOARD Harry Rossi MEd ’85 • President, National Alumni Advisory Board

Profession • President and co-director of FED ED, an advocacy and communication firm representing more than 100 school districts on Federal Education Issues. Also, partner in search firm, School Exec Connect, conducting superin- tendent searches in the Midwest.

Volunteer work • Mentoring school principals through a program at the North Cook Interme- diate Service Center.

Loyola involvement • Charter School Board in Chicago, President of the National Alumni Advisory Board, liaison to the Loyola Board of Trustees, chair of the Loyola School of Educa- tion Board, and member of the Rambler Varsity Club Advisory Board.

Loyola experience • “A Loyola education opened the door to my first administrative posi- tion and then continued to open doors until I reached my goal of superintendent. My course work and my networking with Loyola alums helped me to gain a strong understanding of

the field and gave me opportunities to prog- ress. During interviews I could say with pride that I had received a doctorate from Loyola University Chicago.”

Why he’s involved • “I was motivated to join the alumni board after receiving personal invitations from a number of Loyola faculty and admin- istrators. I also felt it was time to give back to the Univer- sity that had given so much to me.”

Looking ahead • “My goals for the alumni board are to continue to recruit new members from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

I also hope to make the board an entity that can be counted on to give good advice and counsel to the University.”

State of the University • “Among the greatest strengths of the University is our president, Father Michael Garanzini. What he has accomplished in the last decade has been just short of a miracle. Our campuses are now all beautiful; our infrastructure is green; our curriculum is a

great blend of Core and electives; and the feeling of accomplishment and

pride in the University is better than ever.” Pictured: Harry Rossi (bottom left) with his family
