Annual Meeting is like a

Casserole

The recipe for success includes something for every member

H

ow would you describe the CEC annual meeting to someone unfamiliar with the event? On one

hand, it's a fun, family-oriented gathering. On the other, it's a straight up business meeting peppered with speeches and reports. Toss in trustee and bylaw elections, a local trade/craft show, prize drawings and music, and the CEC Annual Meeting becomes a true casserole of an event.

Whatever the recipe for success, CEC members tend to keep coming back. Last year, 988 members registered at the meeting. Add the friends and family members who are always welcome to tag along, and crowds can swell upwards of 2,000 or more.

Members should expect a similar crowd at the 2016 CEC Annual Meeting on September 24. The meeting at the Hugo Rodeo Arena will roll out all the usual attractions—inflatable toys, prizes for kids and adults alike, food and craft vendors, and more. Registration opens at 8 am.

Here's a quick look at what's in store for you at the 2016 Annual Meeting:

SO MANY PRIZES

CEC will give away 60 to 75 prizes to lucky members at the meeting. Remember to register so you will eligible for the prize drawings. Prizes include small appliances, tools, lawn and garden products, electronics and more.

$500 BILL CREDITS This year, CEC will give away three grand

prizes. Each grand prize is a $500 bill credit.

BICYCLES AND iTUNES Gifts for the younger generation include a boys and girls bicycle and $40 iTunes gift card.

ARTS AND CRAFTS

CEC continues to accept applications from vendors for free booth space at the meeting. (See page 7 for the booth reservation form.) At newsletter press time, 25 vendors signed up for booth space. More are expected as the September 16 vendor reservation deadline draws near. Attend the meeting to shop for handmade soaps and candles, knickknacks, jewelry, clothing, yard art, tools and more.

MUSIC AND FREE FOOD

After you register at the meeting, be sure to step in line for a free barbecue sandwich and an ice cold Coke. Grab a seat or stroll around, listen to some music, do a little shopping or visit with friends and family.

If you'd like more information on the meeting, please call CEC at 800-780-6486, or watch for CEC Annual Report which will be mailed to members in September.
