Memo Board Instructions:

By Percillia McCrary

1. Remove backing, glass and the small metal tabs that hold the back and glass in the frame. Pliers make it easier to remove the tabs, but it can be done by hand by wiggling the tabs up and down and left and right while pulling gently.

2. Thread the jute through the spring of the clothespins. Twist the jute until it is as tight as you can get it and tape the end so it is small enough to thread through the clothespins.

3. Lay the frame facedown on your working surface and place a small amount of super glue in the upper right hand corner of the frame. Using an extra clothespin, hold the jute into the superglue for 15-20 seconds then carefully remove the clothespin. Let the glue dry another 60-90 seconds before moving on.

4. Move the clothespins so there are two along the strand between the glued end and the opposite edge of the frame. Move the other clothespins so they are further down the strand out of the way. Pull the

jute taut and glue it about a quarter of the way down the opposite edge of the frame using the same glueing instructions as above. Continue working down the frame in this fashion, alternating between two and three clothespins on each stretch of jute.

5. After you have reached the bottom of the frame and glued the last stretch of jute, cut off the excess jute.

6. Make a hanger using 14-16 inches of the leftover jute. Knot each end and glue to a top corner on the back of the frame.

7. Make sure the glue is COMPLETELY dry before fl ipping your memo board over!

8. After it is safe to turn over your memo board, glue a fl ower or butterfl y to one of the upper corners of the memo board. It is now ready to display pictures or notes!

The glass from the frame makes a great “plate” to set pillar candles on to protect surfaces from wax drippings.
