AFS CEO Jerry Call Announces Retirement for July 1, 2016


AFS CEO


Jerry Call has announced he will be retiring from the society effective July 1, 2016. “It has been my pleasure and honor to serve as the Executive Vice President and, later, as the CEO of the American Foundry Soci- ety,” Call said. “The privilege of working with the amazing individuals in the metalcast- ing industry has made my tenure at AFS truly rewarding, and I want to say a sincere thank you to all.” Call joined AFS as executive vice president in 2004.

He serves on the board of directors for the American Metalcasting Consortium, the Cast Metals Coalition and the Industrial Advisory Board for Trade in ferrous materials for the U.S. Department of Commerce and is the U.S. Representative to the General Assembly of the World Foundry Organization. He has been active in the AFS 10-Q Safety & Health Committee and the AFS Government Affairs Committee during his 28 years working in the industry. Prior experience includes working for Stahl Specialty


Co., Gardner Denver and as Director of Membership for AFS. While working for Stahl Specialty Company, Call served on the board of directors for the Associated Industries of Missouri and the Education Committee for the Missouri Chamber of Commerce. In 1991, he was awarded the AFS Environmental Health & Safety Service Award, and in 1997 he was awarded the AFS Service Citation. AFS has engaged the services of the Association


Management Center (AMC), Chicago, to assist in the search for the society’s next CEO. Additionally, AMC was directed by the AFS Board of Directors to conduct a needs assessment of the organization to help ensure its continued high value in providing service to the metalcasting industry. The needs assessment included interviews with key AFS staff, board members and interviews with focus groups that represented a broad cross section of the industry.
